Fine and Suspension Policy

The Colonial Flag Football League looks to have its players show respect for one another on the field and respect for the guidelines that the league puts forth.  If any player is involved in actions that are deemed detrimental to the league, the player will face suspensions and monetary fines if necessary.  The players with fines or suspensions will be posted on the league website so that player knows exactly what they need to do to get back on the field.

Suspensions

·       Suspensions – If a player is suspended for a game, they must be physically at the field for that game.  It is not serving a penalty if you are at home while your team is playing.  If a player does not show up for a game in which they are suspended, the suspension carries to the next game until the player serves the penalty.  Referees will keep a copy of the suspended players to make sure that they are at the games to serve their suspension.

·       Captain Suspensions – In any situation where a captain is suspended, if the team has a captain that does not regularly take the field for the team, then the suspension will fall upon a co-captain.  A suspension is designed to punish individuals for violating league rules, and if a captain does not actually take the field, a suspension is not punishment.  Therefore, any captain that does not take the field and has a violation that affects the captain’s playing the suspension will be transferred to a co-captain that actually contributes to the team on the field.

·       Fighting = Instigating a fight will result in an automatic ejection from the game and leads to a suspension for the next two weeks.  The severity of the fight and the ejection of the player is all referees discretion.  An emotional outburst is not considered the same as a fight, but if a player continually is getting into physical altercations after each play, the ref has the right to eject the player.  If a 2nd offense occurs the player or team will be ejected from the league upon a captains meeting

·       Failure to Attend League Meetings – Captain = 1 half next game

·       Failure to Uphold Contact Policy – Captain = 1 half of next game – non captain = 1 game

·       Underage Players – Captain = 4 games

·       Trading Players – Captains of each team and players involved = 2 games

·       2 Unsportsmanlike Conducts – Player involved = Ejection from game, suspension from next and $20 fine

·       Game Ejection – Player involved = Current game and suspension from the next with $20 fine to be paid before returning to the field.

Monetary Fines

·       Forfeits – If a team does not call in day advance for forfeit, that team will fined $75 dollars per game paying the ref fee for the forfeiting team and their opponent.  The refs will be paid for their time even if there is no game.

·       Sportsmanship - 2 Unsportsmanlike conduct penalties will result in ejection from the game, suspension from next and a $20 fines.

·       Cleanup – If a team fails to clean up their trash after game they will receive a $25 fine.  A team is responsible for their spectators as well.

·       Behavior - Any rude or crude behavior will result in ejection and $20 fine.

·       Alcohol or Drugs – Consumption is prohibited by the park.  Fines and suspensions are pending on severity.  A team is responsible for their spectators as well.

·       Game Ejection with Suspension – If a player is ejected from a game with a suspension to follow, the player will also be fined $20.
